< Creating Java Programs On Your Home Windows PC
 

1) First Install the Java Software Dev. Kit for Windows (Version 6 Update 6)
 by [clicking here]  then click run.
(Remember where path is -> where it gets installed -- you will need to set this in jcreator)
(takes a while to run -> path should be:
c:
\jdk1.6.0_06)
(IF NOT IN C:\jdk1.6.0_06 -> Check in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_06)


2) Development Environment Options for Windows



Option 1) Load the JCreator Dev. Env. (editor & compiler) by clicking here:

(Click Run to Install)

When opening jcreator for the first time.. set path of sdk (from above) by:
 
  1. Click Configure > Options.

  2. In the tree, select JDK Profiles.

  3. Click the New button.

  4. Browse to the root directory of the JDK installation. For example, c:\jdk1.6.0_06 (From Above or in Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_06)

  5. On the Profile Settings dialog box, check to see if the Name field contains the version of the selected JDK directory.
